  1. Academic Affairs Tenure Track Hiring Report to Senate April 12, 2017 UNIVERSITY STRATEGIC PLAN 2014-2020 We provide education, scholarship and service that are, by design, accessible and transformative. We welcome students who seek academic achievement, personal fulfillment, and preparation for the work of today and tomorrow.

  3. Overview/Budget Number of tenure track hires is determined by new hires, retirements, and FERP. Current practice is to keep replacements for retirements and FERP within the colleges where they occur. Two FERP, starting or ending = 1 hire Number of new tenure track hires is dependent, at least in part, by the budget State budgeting timelines do not match CSU operational timelines very well. We propose new hires in January and the State budget is approved in June There are never enough new tenure track lines The colleges worked diligently with the Provost to come to consensus

  4. Hiring Multiple criteria used to determine new TT hires (see next slide) One size does not fit all. For instance SFR is very different for individual music classes versus large introductory GE classes. AA determined 35 hires would be necessary to meet goals of the university to reach 60% TT density in five years 20 hires currently approved
