SHORT STORY UNIT 1 This unit is on going. Many of the terms will be referenced in each unit, while some units will focus on particular terms.
OBJECTIVES 1. Identify and describe what specific textual details reveal about a character, that character s perspective and motives. 2. Identify and describe specific textual details that convey or reveal a setting. 3. Identify and describe how plot orders events in a narrative. 4. Explain the function of a particular sequence of events in a plot. 5. Identify and describe the narrator or speaker of a text. 6. Identify and explain the function of point of view in a narrative. 7. Develop a paragraph that includes * a claim that requires defense with evidence from the text * and the evidence itself.
