Personal Effectiveness Skills Induction Unit 2 - 2.1a
Todays Session We will focus on you all as individuals. We will look at your strengths. You will focus on how much you use your strengths and how you could do this more.
Its all about You! A lot of psychologists believe that if you build up your personal resource bank challenges you face in life are easier to handle. There is not a one-size fits all solution to this so we re going to start with the most important factor you!

Personal Resource Bank In an amazing book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers Sean Covey talks about the idea of making deposits and withdrawals which we can apply to the idea of your personal resource bank.

We are going to start with your strengths!
Exercise You re now going to try a personality test*. You are going to see descriptions of two people. Try and decide who you are more like. Remember that there is no right or wrong both are good both are good. Write down the name of the person you are most like.

The VIA classification of character strengths was developed as part of a multi-year research project with the goal of identifying what's best about human beings and how we use those best characteristics to build our best lives for ourselves and others.
How much do you use your strengths? Write down what percentage you use your strengths on a daily basis. Write down a time that you used your strengths. What was the result of doing so? Write down 5 things you can do to practice using your strengths on a daily basis.
