There are many strange sports in the world that are not very common but are very interesting. Here are ten examples:
1.Cheese Rolling Cheese Rolling is a funny sport from England. People run down a very steep hill, chasing a big round cheese. The first person to reach the bottom wins the cheese. It is dangerous because the hill is very steep.
2. Sepak Takraw Sepak Takraw is a sport from Southeast Asia. It is like volleyball, but players use their feet, head, knees, and chest to hit the ball. The ball is made of rattan. Players need to be very flexible and fast.
3. Extreme Ironing Extreme Ironing is a strange sport where people iron clothes in crazy places like mountains or rivers. They bring their ironing boards and try to iron in difficult situations.
4. Bog Snorkeling Bog Snorkeling is a funny sport from Wales. People swim in a dirty water trench using only a snorkel and flippers. They cannot use their arms and have to swim as fast as they can.
5. Toe Wrestling In Toe Wrestling, two people lock toes and try to force the other s foot down. It is just like arm wrestling, but with toes. It started in England in 1976.
6. Underwater Hockey Underwater Hockey, also called Octopush, is played at the bottom of a swimming pool. Players wear masks and fins and push a small puck on the pool floor. It needs a lot of teamwork and swimming skills.
7. Wife Carrying Wife Carrying is a funny race from Finland. Men carry women (often their wives) through a course with obstacles. The prize is the wife s weight in beer!
8. Chess Boxing Chess Boxing is a sport where people play chess and then box. They change between playing chess and fighting. It tests both thinking and strength.
9. Zorbing Zorbing is when people roll downhill inside a big plastic ball. It started in New Zealand. It is fun but looks very strange!
10. Quidditch Quidditch is a sport based on the Harry Potter books. Players run with broomsticks between their legs and try to throw balls into hoops. There is also a player dressed as the Snitch who must be caught.
