  11. Conclusion East Kalimantan, located in Indonesia, is home to diverse linguistic variations. The region is primarily inhabited by ethnic groups such as the Dayak, Banjar, Kutai, and other subgroups. Despite the presence of multiple languages spoken in the region, the high school students in Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) predominantly speak Bahasa Indonesia. As the official language of Indonesia, Bahasa Indonesia is widely used and understood in East Kalimantan. It serves as a lingua franca for interethnic communication and finds application in formal settings, education, media, and business. The language use in the region is dynamic and influenced by various social and cultural factors. While conducting our research, we observed slight language variations among high school students in IKN, primarily in the usage of particles. However, no significant differences were found in other aspects such as word order, which are commonly observed in eastern Indonesia. It is important to note that language variation is also noticeable in the realm of pronunciation and intonation. Therefore, we recommend further research specifically focused on language variations in spoken language, particularly exploring pronunciation and intonation patterns.
