Details on Travel Funding All travel funding has an application and approval process through UPAC Need to apply at least 40 academic days in advance (pennstateupac.org/deadlines/)
Organization vs Individual Travel Every registered student organization is able to request up to $5,000 per year for travel Every individual is able to request up to $500 per year for travel UPAC will consider 75% of transportation costs and up to $100 of registration If an organization that you are part of is applying as an organization, you can not apply as an individual for the same event but you can apply for different conferences
Hearing Process and Presenting Research You may need to defend your request in a hearing Make sure you emphasize the benefit to the university community Current UPAC policy: A student traveling for the purpose of presenting their personal research is not eligible for UPAC funding for the date(s) that they are presenting their own research, as the travel experience would result in personal gain that is essential for academic progress.
