3rd ASEAN Peacekeeping Centres Network (APCN) APCN was held from 07 to 09 October 2015 Phnom Penh, Cambodia Attended by ASEAN member states except Brunei Darussalam, Singapore &Thailand Representatives of UNDP in Cambodia and ASEAN Secretariat were also present 3
Presentations by keynote speakers: - Secretary of State, Cambodian National Defense Ministry - UN Resident Coordinator in Cambodia 4
Presentations on updates of activities from ASEAN member states Peacekeeping Centres: - Cambodia - Vietnam - The Philippines - Myanmar - Malaysia - Lao PDR - Indonesia 5
Panel Discussions: - Ways forward in exchanging instructors/trainers and trainees among ASEAN PKO Centres - Promoting capacity building among ASEAN member states through multinational FTX - How to open ways and means in offering courses among ASEAN member states 6
Views/suggestions/observations raised during the meeting: - To maintain contact points of ASEAN PKO centres - To share schedule of activities for information sharing - To consider the development of specialized/niche expertise for each ASEAN member state - To exchange high-level visits of instructors 7
- To compile a list of upcoming activities of the existing ASEAN PKO centres for circulation among member states - There is a need to start exploring the possibilities of an ASEAN multinational FTX - ASEAN through APCN should be engaged collectively as ASEAN entity in view of pursuing ASEAN regional interests 8
Proposal for next APCN meetings: - The Philippines and Indonesia offered to host the subsequent 4th and 5th APCN 9
