Contracts and State Plan Update for the Council July 2024
Advocacy Leadership Development Cohort (ALDC) Aims to empower communities across the state to tackle barriers impacting individuals with developmental disabilities. 9 awardees (1 of which was their first governmental contract) 3 Training Teams Goal 2 in our State Plan (Leadership and Advocacy)
ALDC Competitive Process Write a purpose and background, objectives and scope of work Run it by the team (DDC) and Commerce Contracts Office Post Request for Application: evaluate on how the applicant is qualified to do the work and how the work impacts their community. Conduct Q&A session (commerce just adopted this as a requirement). Receive and review applications (14) to ensure accuracy and eligibility. Building a scoring committee (and provide support). Calculate scores and announce apparent successful bidder(s). Intersection of Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and Behavioral Health Research Project A research project to focus on what is currently happening nationally and in Washington State around evidence-based practices that are culturally relevant and focused on helping individuals and families in the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) Community. Awarded to The Council of Quality and Leadership Goal 1 in State Plan Objective 1.2 Supporting People with Co-Occurring DD and Mental Illness or Other Mental/Behavioral Health Challenges Objective 1.4 Making funding recommendations to the Legislature and State Agencies
Incarceration Project To create a report on the intersection between individuals with IDD and the Incarceration system. Awarded to . Since April 2024, the DDC has awarded over $482,000 in contracts/grants. The WADDC yearly operating budget is $1,577,033.00 Dating back to January 2024 the DDC has awarded an additional $285,000. Totaling over $767,000 in 2024!!
