Before Reporting Innovations to Sponsors Complete the CoMotion Record of Innovation Report before reporting new technologies and innovations to sponsors. This includes: > Research Performance Progress Reports > Interim Technology Reports > Final Reports - etc
Record of Innovation UW Innovator (Campus) Responsibilities UW innovators submit their new innovations to CoMotion via an online Record of Innovation form Forms need to include: > description of the technology > list of the related contributors > information about related funding sources (federal grants, SRAs, gifts, UW funding, etc.) > materials from external sources > related non-funding agreements > public disclosures > an assignment of the technology to the UW for the UW innovators After you receive confirmation CoMotion has your completed form, you can then report innovation to sponsors.
iEdison Requirements CoMotion Responsibilities > For federally-funded technologies, the UW is required to report the receipt of those technologies via the federal iEdison database within 2 months > Following the initial reporting, any patent or license related to the technology needs to be reported as well > Every innovation also has required annual reporting regarding its status (licensed, unlicensed, or licensed with a commercial product) > New annual reporting requirements will also include FDA status and manufacturing information, where appropriate.
NASA Technology Reporting New Inventions on NASA awards Innovators must complete a Record of Innovation report with UW CoMotion first. > The UW cannot guarantee review or protections without this > NASA does not forward new technology reports back to CoMotion > NASA does not currently report via iEdison NASA will begin using iEdison in 2025
NASA - Technology Reporting Innovators Create an account at NASA s Technology Transfer Submit NASA invention reports: > New Technology Summary Report - Interim & Final > and a New Technology Report to report: a new invention, discovery, an advance in the state of the art See NASA - What is Reportable > No signatures required > Does not route to OSP
