  3. Advanced Placement (AP) Courses AP exams are in May. Students are responsible for half the cost of the exam (approximately $46- billed with registration fees). Students must take the exam if they are in the class. Most Colleges/Universities will give credit for scores of 3, 4 or 5 on the AP exam. Colleges/Universities have the right to not issue credit for AP tests. No Guarantee Taking AP courses in High School, regardless of the earned test score, shows a student s willingness to be challenged with rigorous courses. RVC Dual Credit Courses Taught at SVHS Statistics (MTH 220) Requirements: Math SAT score of 470+ OR MATH ACT score of 18+ OR Nex-Gen ACCUPLACER QAS 257 AND ELA SAT score of 480+ OR Reading ACT score of 19+ OR Nex-Gen ACCUPLACER Reading of 246 . This is a 3 credit hour class only offered in the fall semester. Calculus (MTH135) Requirements: Math SAT score of 620+ OR MATH ACT score of 26+ OR Nex-Gen ACCUPLACER QAS 257 & AAF 276 AND ELA SAT score of 480+ OR Reading ACT score of 19+ OR Nex-Gen ACCUPLACER Reading of 246. This is a 5 credit hour class, two semester class with a spring RVC registration. Students must meet the Illinois Community College Board s Placement Requirements. 2020-2021 RVC Courses Taught @SVHS Cost: $50 per course

  5. RVC Dual Credit Courses Taught at SVHS Principles of Technology (CIS 102) Requirements: ELA SAT score of 480+ OR Reading ACT score of 19+ OR Nex-Gen ACCUPLACER Reading of 246. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Intro. To Computers This is a 3 credit hour class. Medical Terminology (HLT 110) Requirements: ELA SAT score of 480 or greater OR Reading ACT score of 19 or greater OR Nex-Gen ACCUPLACER Reading of 246 or higher. Prerequisite: Enrolled in Anatomy or successful completion of Anatomy This is a 2 credit hour class. Students must meet the Illinois Community College Board s Placement Requirements. 2020-2021 RVC Courses Taught @SVHS Cost: $50 per course

Dual Credit Classes at RVC Seniors Only How we choose what courses to make available to our students A course that starts at 1:30 A course that we don t already offer at SVHS Students/Families are responsible for all tuition and fees. Students are responsible for their own transportation. Students must be in good academic standing and meeting all their graduation requirements. Students must meet RVC s application of the Illinois Community College Board s placement requirements. Students must complete all enrollment forms and agreement forms by deadlines through the College & Career Center.

  8. RVC On-Line Dual Credit @ SVHS Seniors Only It must be course that we don t already offer at SVHS. It must be a course that begins at the start of the semester. Students/Families are responsible for all tuition and fees. Students must be in good academic standing and meeting all their graduation requirements. Students must meet RVC s application of the Illinois Community College Board s placement requirements for each course. Students will complete the Rock Valley College Registration through the College & Career Center. Students are not allowed to leave our campus during for online courses. Students may work on an on-line course during a study hall.

  10. Agriculture Dual Credit through Highland Community College: Students will complete the Highland application and/or registration with the instructor during the course. Agriculture Business Management (AGOC 222) 3 credits Agriculture Mechanics and Technology (AGRI 182) 4 credits Agriculture Metal Fabrication (WELD 130) 3 credits Animal Science (AGOC 116/AGRI 186) 3 or 4 credits Plant Science (AGRI 286) 4 credits Horticulture Production and Management (AGRI 188) 3 credits No tuition or fees for the course Landscaping Design (AGOC 132) 3 credits

  11. HCC Online Dual Credit @ SVHS It must be a course we don t already offer at SVHS. HCC On-line 2019-2020 Courses AGRI 184 Intro to Ag Economics It must be a course that begins at the start of the semester. AGRI 192 Computer Applications in Agriculture Students must meet HCC s application of the Illinois Community College Board s placement requirements for each course. Students/Families are responsible for all tuition and fees. Students must be in good academic standing and meeting all their graduation requirements. Students will complete the Highland Community College registration through the College & Career Center. Students are not allowed to leave our campus for on-line courses.

  12. CEANCI Regional Programs Seniors only Cosmetology- Educators of Beauty, 1:00-3:00 pm, Year Long Students must have their own transportation. Must fill out an online application at ceanci.org/programs Student must be in good academic standing and on track with graduation requirements. Tuition: $2,200 (May 1st) Fees: $200 payable at Educators of Beauty Orientation Meeting May 15thDeadline to withdraw from CEANCI Education Programs without penalty August TBD Date: The Cosmetology Orientation Meeting will be at the Educators of Beauty where you will get a tour of the school and meet your instructor; fees associated with these programs will be due at this evening.

  13. RVC Course Guide for Fall 2020 will come out on March 1st. RVC sign-up forms will be due back in late March (date TBA) for enrollment in fall 2020 courses. HCC Course Guide for Fall 2020 will be available by April 6th. HCC sign-up forms will be due back in late April (date TBA) for enrollment in fall 2020 courses.
