All Vetting Applications must be created in the GAA online portal, Foireann. The Foireann portal can be accessed via: the Foireann App (available to download in the App store) or the Foireann website which can be accessed here 2
1. Register an Account in Foireann Note: This step is not necessary if you already have an account in Foireann (i.e. if you are already a member of the Club) 3 If you don t remember your Foireann username, please email vettingadmin@ballyboden.ie If you need help with registration Instructions can be found here
2. Review the personal information on Profile Tab and ensure it is correct Click on Profile (found in listing on right hand side of screen). The Profile Tab contains details of: Name Address Email Address Contact Number Date of Birth 4
3. Create a Vetting Application Go to Qualifications & Vetting Tab (this can be found across the top of Foireann screen) 5 Scroll to the bottom of the Qualifications & Vetting page and click on Apply to be Garda Vetted button
4. Review & confirm all personal details Scroll down the page, reviewing & confirming that all personal information is correct. Select Club, Association & Role from drop-down menus: Note: It doesn t matter which Association you choose as the Vetting Cert is valid for all 3. 6 FLO s should chose Chaperone role If the drop-down menus are blank, log out of Foireann, clear your internet browsing history and log back in and return to this step.
4. Review & confirm all personal details (continued) Tick the 2 consent tabs at the bottom of the screen to confirm a) your personal information is correct, and 7 b) You give consent to share this with the National Vetting Bureau Click on the Next: Upload your documents button to continue to the next Step
5. Upload Required Documents Click on the Upload Validation Form & Upload Supporting Documents buttons to upload the following required documents: Completed GAA ID Evetting Validation Form The Form is available to download and print here Alternatively, the Form can be completed electronically in Foireann, if preferred by clicking on the link as shown on screen 8 Current Photo ID (drivers license or passport preferred) Proof of address (utility bill or bank or insurance or government letter, dated in last 6 months)
6. Click Submit Button Once the documents have uploaded successfully, you will see a green tick mark beside each document, and the Submit Vetting Application button will appear at the bottom of the screen. You must click this button! 9 The Application is now automatically forwarded to BBSE Childrens Officers for review & approval. You can see that your Application is in review on the Qualifications & Vetting Tab
Dont Forget! There is still another Step to do before your Vetting Application can begin to be processed. 10 A day or two after you have submitted your application, you should receive an email from the National Vetting Bureau asking you to submit some additional information on their website. This email may go to your Junk or Spam folder keep an eye out for it! You must complete this information on the National Vetting Bureau website before the Garda start the Vetting process.
