2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing Parents & Guardians As we begin a new school year, thank you for taking the time to view our annual Parent Title IA/Youth-in-Transition Meeting & Information Sharing presentation.
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing To ensure parents and guardians have received notice and had the opportunity to view the information contained in this presentation, Friday Attendance Newsletters in August & September will serve as notice acknowledging this presentation was received, how to access the presentation, that hard copies are available if needed and how to request one, that the presentation is available in another language if needed, that parents are encouraged to review the information as part of the parent involvement process, and who to contact for questions or assistance as needed on Title IA or Homeless issues.
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing Victory Charter School Mission: To develop students who are competent, confident, productive and responsible young adults who possess the habits, skills and attitudes to succeed in high school and to be offered the invitation of a post-secondary education, satisfying employment, and life-long opportunities. Vision: Victory students will develop a strong academic foundation, strength of character, and the work ethic and attitudes to achieve success in their chosen careers and in all aspects of their lives. Philosophy: When low threat is coupled with highly challenging content, accelerated learning takes place.
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing Title IA Victory is a Title IA School Title IA is a federal program that provides an additional source of funding to assist schools in their educational program. Victory operates as a Schoolwide Title IA program Meaning the school serves all students when using Title IA funds. The school will receive $53,185 in Title IA funds this school year. $9,000 in Title IVA funds has been transferred to Title IA to provide additional student support.
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing Victory Charter School s schoolwide program is a model program for imbedded integration and differentiation for all students. The instructional model allows teachers to assess the students academic needs on a continual basis and provide appropriate interventions. Victory s Title IA plan is approved by the Idaho State Dept. of Education and is formally reviewed every five- to-six years. Victory has passed every review since its opening. Our most recent review occurred in March 2023. The reviews continually recognize the strength of the school s academic program, as this team report from 2016- 2017 notes:
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing How is Title IA funding used at Victory? Teachers in 1st-8thgrade determine through regular student assessments where students individually and as a whole would benefit most with additional instruction from the teacher and classroom educational assistants. Teachers determine, plan and direct all Title IA activities for their students. Title IA funds are primarily used to help strengthen students proficiency in reading & language arts to ensure all students are excelling not only at grade level, but above grade level. Funding is also used to provide parent handouts/information regarding the Title IA program and, at times, for additional educational materials & equipment.
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing What does Title IA look like in a Victory classroom? Because Title IA works near-seamlessly with the Harbor Method, it s sometimes difficult to recognize when this extra assistance in taking place. Most often, it consists of a few extra minutes per day of added one-one-one and/or small group instruction with students in addition to regular, core instruction. Students are never removed from core instruction to receive Title IA assistance. Title IA activities occur under the supervision of certified teachers.

2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing Parent Involvement, continued Parents & guardians are invited to be involved in the Title IA program, in the parent & family engagement policy, and activities that take place under Title IA and other Victory programs. This presentation and Fall Attendance Note notices invite parents to review these school policies & procedures and to provide input if interested in doing so: Parent & Family Engagement Policy Parent-School Compact Wellness Policy Continuous Improvement Plan Teacher & Administrator Evaluation Forms Title IX Any parent/guardian comments received will be presented at the governing board meeting where the policy or procedure is included on the board agenda. 2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing Parent Involvement, continued Additional, parent-involvement activities: -- Volunteering in classrooms, on field trips, and during after-school activities -- Taking part in the annual parent survey -- Attending parent-teacher conferences twice yearly -- Taking advantage of the Parent Involvement tab on the school s website to help facilitate further learning at home -- Serving on school committees & fundraising efforts as needed -- Serving in an appointed governing board position -- Providing parent feedback on school policies, charter amendments, strategic plans, etc.
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing Youth-in-Transition/Homeless Education As part of Victory receiving Title IA funding, we adhere to Title IX-A: Homeless Education requirements .
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing Being Homeless or in Transition For most people, the word homeless conjures up stereotypical images of adults, not children or youth in classrooms. Initially, students experiencing homelessness may likely not be recognized as such as they may be staying temporarily with another family, with relatives, or living in motels or campgrounds, etc.
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing McKinney-Vento Act Ensures all children & youth who are in transition or homeless receive a free, appropriate public education and are given meaningful opportunities to succeed in our schools. Our school ensures that children and youth who are homeless/in transition are free from discrimination, segregation, and harassment.
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing Youth-in-Transition Definition Children and youth in transition mean children and youth who are otherwise legally entitled to or eligible for a free public education, including preschool, and who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence.
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing Children and youth who are in transition are most often in one of these situations Sharing housing w/others due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or a similar reason Living in motels, hotels, campgrounds, or trailer parks due to a lack of alternative adequate accommodations Living in emergency or transitional shelters Abandoned in hospitals Awaiting placement in foster care In a primary nighttime residence that is a private or public place not designed for or ordinarily used as a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings Living in a car, park, public space, abandoned building, substandard housing, bus or train station, or similar setting Migratory and living in a situation described above.
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing How long does a school consider a child in transition once he/she has been deemed as such? A child or youth will be considered homeless/in transition for as long as he or she is in one of the living situations described. These determinations are made on a case-by-case basis. The youth-in-transition status is reviewed with the parents & student annually, if necessary.
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing Who are Unaccompanied Youth? Unaccompanied youth are those not in the physical custody of a parent or guardian, and who meet the definition of homeless.
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing What Services are provided to children & youth who are homeless/in transition? Children & Youth in these situations will be provided services comparable to services offered to other students, including: Transportation - coordinated w/school s homeless liaison Title I, Part A services - Children and youth in transition are automatically eligible for Title IA services Educational services for which the student meets eligibility criteria, including special education and related services and programs Before- and after-school programs when offered Free meals at school - On the day a child/youth who is determined a youth-in-transition enrolls in school. or is determined in transition while already attending the school, the youth-in-transition liaison will notify the food service manager. No paperwork is required on the part of the student or parent/guardian.

2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing Find Help Idaho The website, www.findhelpidaho.org, helps those needing to connect to various supports in our community. Financial assistance, food pantries, medical care, and other free or reduced cost help can be accessed by visiting and entering your zip code.
2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing Additional Information & Resources, continued Idaho s Homelessness response system: Idaho has a standardized approach to homelessness response to address the needs of those experiencing a housing crisis, to help them gain access to programs & services, and to ensure those experiencing or at risk of homelessness that are seeking long-term housing solutions have consistent access to housing resources. In particular, individuals in need of housing assistance now have one, regional access point to work with -- for the Nampa area this is the Salvation Army, 403 12th Ave S, Nampa, 208-467-6586. Those in need of immediate shelter should continue to access emergency shelters, such as Nampa's Valley Women & Children s Shelter, 208-475-0725. The school s Youth-in-Transition liaison, Mrs. O Donahue, is also available to assist in sharing & coordinating these resources. Contact the school office if you re in need of such assistance.

If you do not have access to the website, parents may request hard copies by stopping by the office, calling the school at 208-442-9400, or emailing office@victorycharterschool.net. Comments can returned by email, or dropped off at the school s front office. Copies in another language will also be provided when needed. Comments will be shared with the Governing Board at the meeting in which it is included as an agenda item.

2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing School Report Card If you re new to the school, or if you ve not yet had the opportunity to review, every school in Idaho receives an Annual Report Card from the State Department of Education that shares its academic and non-academic outcomes. Our most recent Annual Report Card can be found by going to the school s website, under About Us/School Report Card, and then clicking on the Annual School Report Card link, or by going directly to www.idahoschools.org . Please note: You ll see comparisons between school and district outcomes. Since our school is its own Local Education Agency (LEA), or district, the comparisons will be identical. 2024-2025 Victory Title IA Parent Information Sharing Notice of Non-Discrimination In accordance with applicable federal and state laws, such as Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act and ADA Amendments, Victory Charter School District #451 does not unlawfully discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, national origin, age, disability, marital status, genetic information, veteran status, or any other protected status under federal, state or local law applicable to Victory Charter School, in its education programs and activities, in employment policies and practices, and all other areas of the school. In accordance with Title IX and its regulations, Victory s Title IX Sexual Misconduct Policy and Procedures address the school s prohibition of the following forms of sex discrimination: Title IX Sexual Harassment, Non-Title IX Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Stalking, and Sexual Exploitation.
