The Virginia Alternative Energy & Coastal Protection Act HB2018 (Del. Ron Villanueva, Virginia Beach Republican) Scheduled for the House Commerce & Labor, Energy Subcommittee on Jan. 31 SB1471 (Sen. Mamie Locke) & SB1496 (Sen. Lynwood Lewis) The bills will be rolled into one when they come before the Senate Ag., Chesapeake & Natural Resources Committee either Jan. 26 or Feb. 2.
The Virginia Alternative Energy & Coastal Protection Act Declares that sea level rise and recurrent flooding challenges needs urgent attention Joins Virginia into the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) Revenues directed to the Shoreline Resilience Fund, which was established through legislation last year but to date, has not received any monies
