Teams and On-Line Virtual Learning Norms and Expectations
Students will.. Create a space and dedicated time for learning Seek help when needed (teachers, counselor, principals) Cameras are to be ON ( you can select a background to use) Respond with hands in teams Have materials for class pencil, paper/notebook for each class Assignments are due by the end of asynchronous time (if more time is needed, please use Ms. Lato s office hours for extra help). Create balance by taking opportunities to work during asynchronous times and upload tasks Sign into the classrooms daily- keep connected Communicate with your teachers and read the feedback
Students will.. Demonstrate online learning etiquette Use proper language. This means no emoticons, text message language, or swear words. The discussion board is like a workplace and is meant to be professional. Don t type in ALL CAPS! If you do, it will look like you are screaming. Recognize and respect diversity. It s ok to ask questions to clarify things you don t understand. Avoid sarcasm and dark humor. Take your posts seriously. Never say online what you wouldn t say in real life to another person s face. Your posts are a permanent record, so think about the type of record you want to leave behind.
Students will.. If you are frustrated and finding the course material difficult, please reach out to the teacher. Be forgiving. If your classmate makes a mistake, whether it s a typo or grammatical error, don t badger him or her for it. Just let it go. Reach out to your teachers if you are overwhelmed Collaborate with peers using respectful language and behaviors Use equipment as outlined by St. Louis Public Schools Wear attire acceptable for school Support each other in this new way of learning Be patient with yourselves and your teachers- we are all learning together!
