INTRODUCTION India won freedom on 15thAugust 1947 Starting of the British control of India Arrival of Mahatma Gandhi in the political scene of India Independence Day remind us about the great sacrifice of our patriots
ROOTS, CULTURES & IDENTITIES Embrace and remain true to ones own roots A person becomes lifeless ones he fails to hold on to his traits Eg:- Mizo folklore, Tumchhingi and Raldawna Western and Korean waves
PEACE & HARMONY Communal violence, religious strife, terrorist movements and regional alienation Due importance to be given to the sentiments of each community Live and die for motherland than for religion
CHILD LABOUR Most important concern in the world Child Labour Act,1986 12.9 million child labour in India
DISABILITY RIGHTS Wide gap between legislaton & implementation Urgent challenges : Awareness Poor implementaton Lack of accessibilty Lack of special educational institutional
HEALTH & SANITATION Indian health care system is plagued with numerous problem Vision of Gandhiji for a clean India (Swachh Bharat) Responsibilty of every citizens Creating awareness Challenges: Fund allocation & Inadequate Infrastructure Optimal Insurance based service Less emphasis on preventive care Delay in diagnosis of illesness
EQUALITY Everbody is equal in the eyes of law Forms of inequality: Casteism Untouchabilty Class inequality Racism Gender inequality
EDUCATION SYSTEM Highest number of Academics in the world Issues of Depresson & Anxiety Ways to improve Indian education system: Skill based learning Educate parent Adapt to new technologies Rote learning Vs Real learning
POLITICAL SYSTEM Manipulaton of power Corruption Selling of votes Criminalisation of politics
AGRICULTURE Livelihood for majority of the population Poor production Increasing demand due to increasing population Less usage of modern farming technology
