  4. What is WCAG? Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) The WCAG documents explain how to make software (web and non-web) more accessible to people with disabilities. Used worldwide as the criteria to meet for: web and non-web user interfaces electronic documentation 4 ITI Promoting Innovation Worldwide

  5. WCAG versions Final versions (Recommendation) 1999: WCAG 1.0 2008: WCAG 2.0 2018: WCAG 2.1 In development: WCAG 2.2 (2022) WCAG 3.0 (a.k.a. Silver - 2026?) 5 ITI Promoting Innovation Worldwide

  8. Perceivable and Operable Perceivable Provide text alternatives for non-text content. Provide captions and other alternatives for multimedia. Create content that can be presented in different ways, including by assistive technologies, without losing meaning. Make it easier for users to see and hear content. Operable Make all functionality available from a keyboard. Give users enough time to read and use content. Do not use content that causes seizures or physical reactions. Help users navigate and find content. Make it easier to use inputs other than keyboard. 8 ITI Promoting Innovation Worldwide

  9. Understandable and Robust Understandable Make text readable and understandable. Make content appear and operate in predictable ways. Help users avoid and correct mistakes. Robust Maximize compatibility with current and future user tools. 9 ITI Promoting Innovation Worldwide
