  10. DISTRICT OWNED PROPERTY The district owns 29 acres on North 47 near the water tower. Large enough for an 90,000 square foot elementary school (about the same size as Warrior Ridge) Construction Cost -- $38,500,000 for 25 classrooms Construction Cost -- $42,000,000 for 37 classrooms

  11. THE PLAN Build a new elementary school on the property the district owns. Move Daniel Boone to the new site 175 more seats for elementary with phase one of the plan 475 more seats for elementary when the full plan is complete Move the Early Childhood Center to Daniel Boone 15 more classrooms to expand into.

  12. NEW BUILDING Depending on Actual Bids Most likely option: Phase 1 Build a 25 classroom facility Phase 2 Add on 12 more classrooms when bonds become available Using the model used by Wentzville and Troy saves the district $395,000

  13. INCREASED SAFETY FOR COMMUNITY AND STUDENTS A tornado shelter is required Available to the public Middle School PE will be not leave the building. The field house will still be used for competition.

FINANCING AVAILABLE $47,000,000 available in bonding capacity No tax rate increase: Phase 1 -- $38,500,000 (25 classroom building) Depending on how this tax rate is $26,000,000 available in 24-25 $12,500,000 available in 29-30 Interest only loan of approximately $500,000 a year will cover the gap in bonds Bonds will become available quicker if assessed value increases faster than anticipated

  16. TIMELINE April 2, 2024 election Bids Due in September 2024 Construction begins November 2024 District takes ownership January 2027 New school opens for students 27-28 school year

  17. PRE-K OPPORTUNITIES Expand current early childhood special education programing Add a free pre-k program for 4-year-olds on free or reduced lunch Capitalize on additional funding from the state for early childhood education Add a free or low cost of day care for staff.
