  1. Water Crisis Created By: Malath Nawaf, Elizabeth Stephan, Jorie Azzam, Taleen Dajani.

  2. Introduction to Water Crisis Water scarcity is defined as a water deficiency or a lack of safe water supplies. Jordan is one of the most water-scarce countries in the world. The country s renewable water supply currently meets around two-thirds of the population s water demands, with groundwater being used twice as quickly as it can be replenished.

  3. Issues Related to Water Crisis Water Pollution: Pollution is aggravating water shortages. The overflow of wastewater pumping stations, leaks from sewage systems and exposure to industrial and commercial waste are polluting Jordan's surface river sources. This has resulted in nitrate and phosphorus contamination of water supplies.

  4. Causes Pollution Lack of rainfall Mismanagement of Surface Water Resources

  5. Consequences Reduction in water supply, reduced crop yields, and potential crop failures can significantly undermine Jordan s agricultural production. Negative impact on the service sector through increased operational costs and increased complexity in supply chains. Access to quality water is a challenge.

  6. Courses of Action Developing water filtration systems. Reduce your water usage. Protecting wetlands. Improving irrigation efficiency. Increasing water storage in reservoirs. Desalinating seawater.

  7. To Conclude Jordan is one of the most water-scarce countries in the world. The country's renewable water supply currently meets around two-thirds of the population's water demands, with groundwater being used twice as quickly as it can be replenished.
