Those caused by presence of an infective agent viral Viral hepatitis A, hepatitis E, poliomyelitis, rotavirus diarrhea in infants Bacterial Typhoid and paratyphoid fever, bacillary dysentery, Esch. Coli diarrhea, cholera Protozoal Amoebiasis, giardiasis Helminthic Roundworm, threadworm, hydatid disease Leptospiral Well s disease Those due to presence of aquatic host Snail Schistosomiasis Cyclops Guinea worm, fish tapeworm

CHEMICAL: Detergent solvents, cyanides, heavy metals, minerals and organic acids, nitrogenous substances, bleaching agents dyes, pigments, sulphides, ammonia toxic and biocidal organic compounds of great variety. Affects health directly and indirectly by accumulating in aquatic life used by human food

  4. DENTAL HEALTH: Presence of fluoride at about 1mg/litre protect dental carries but high levels causes mottling of dental enamel. CYANOSIS IN INFANT: Methaemoglobinaemia due to high nitrate cotentent CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES: Hardness of water beneficial to CVDs DUE TO INADEQUATE USE: Shigellosis, trachoma and conjunctivitis, ascariasis, scabies DUE TO DISEASE CARRYING INSECTS BREEDING IN Malaria, filaria, arbovirus, Onchocerciasis, African trypanosomiasis
