O Divine Weaver, we bring you our threads of understandings, questions, hopes and all that we hold dear. You encourage us to keep moving the shuttle in and out of our common loom, trusting that we will choose our threads wisely, seeking counsel from Your spirit and one another. Our common loom has been held by many hands over our 175-year history, weaving a wondrous pattern of God s making. Today, it is our hands that hold the loom. We are the ones who will choose the threads that will create the pattern for our future. We ask you, Weaver God, to give us courage and steady hands to keep the shuttle moving forward. As we weave on, may we strengthen valued threads of the past while adding new threads for the future. May our sacred summons to live in communion with all that is, be woven into the heart of this new IHM tapestry. This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-NC-ND
1- Well weave a love that greens sure as spring, then deepens in summer to the fall autumn brings, Resting still in winter to spiral again, Together, my friends, we ll weave on, we ll weave on. 2 We ll weave a love that opens our eyes to see One another beyond all disguise, Where our trust like water will wash away lies Together, my friends, we ll weave on, we ll weave on 3 We ll weave a love that touches our pain, That comes like the water to drought-fevered plains, So the roots once withered sing praise to the rain Together, my friends, we ll weave on, we ll weave on. Chorus Chorus: A love that heals , friend, that bends, friend, That rising and turning then yields , friend, Like the mountain to rain, or frost in the spring, Or darkness that turns with the dawn. It s by turning, turning, turning my friend, By turning that love moves on. 4 - We ll weave a love that holds the despised, The stranger that wanders, the focus of lies, We ll stand sure as mountains with earth s victimizedBearing leaves, burnt amber with morning s full sweep Together, my friends, we ll weave on, we ll weave onTogether, my friends, we ll weave on, we ll weave on.
