  1. Welcome, Students! Fourth Grade Ms. Betts

  2. My Family I have four brothers and four sisters. I am also a TWIN. I ve never been married and don t have any children. I enjoy children and call my students my children. I do not have any pets, but my favorite animal is a lion. In my free time I enjoy my nieces and nephews! My Experience My background I grew up in St. Louis. I ve been teaching for over 20 years. I have taught every grade from First through Eighth grade. I am a product of SLPS ---Sumner High School, Harris-Stowe State College, and Webster University. I have taught at Ames since I started. Hobbies and Interests Growing and taking care of my plants Taking pictures Gambling Playing digital games Watching movies Riding my bike and skating

  3. Learn About Our Class We will be learning using a new format called virtual learning. You will be working on schoolwork at home instead of at Ames. We will still do our assignments but they will be on the digital devices and you ll submit/turn in your work to me when you re done. This is an exciting and different experience for us all. We started virtual learning after Spring Break last year so we have some idea about the process. We are serious about what we will be doing this year and have high expectations for every student. We want you all to know that this is new and to be patient with your child, yourself and their teacher. We will have a few bumps along the way.

  4. Fourth Grade Rules and Consequences Follow all directions the first time given. Be Respectful to yourselves and others. Be Punctual to class sessions dressed as if you are attending class in the school building. (No Pajamas) Be mindful of your peers and mute your device until permitted to respond. Be a Leader, Participate and Complete all class assignments on time. Be Prepared to Learn each and Every day. Consequences 1st Offense Verbal Warning 2nd Offense Talk with Student 3rd Offense Privileges Evaluated 4th Offense Parent Communication 5th Offense Principal/Administration Actions

  7. Fourth Grade Supply List school when we return to the buildings. However, since we will be learning away from the school building your child will not need these supplies right away. We do want you to have them when the students return. Please have your child bring the listed items to school as soon as they are able to do so. Your child s teacher will notify you if there are any further needs. This is a common list of items that the 4th grade teachers would like your child to bring to During our Virtual Learning Period----Please provide the following supplies - as needed, in a study area at home for your child. Pencils, Erasers, Loose-Leaf Notebook paper, Scissors, Glue, Tape, Crayons, Colored Pencils, Markers THESE SUPPLIES WILL BE NEEDED WHEN WE RETURN TO CLASS AT AMES No. 2 Pencils, 8oz. bottle of Hand Sanitizer, 4 70 page Spiral Notebooks, 2 boxes of Kleenex, 2 Two Pocket Folders, Wipes, Zip-Loc Bags, 2-inch Binder
