Back To School First day of school will be August 5, 2024 All students will take 7 classes and an Intervention or Enrichment Class Schedules are currently being developed Please ensure that you have completed online registration Students will use lockers and suit out in PE Pup camp will be from 8:15-Noon on July 23, 2024
Daily Schedule
In the Know In the Know Cell Phones or Electronic device- BYOD-Bring Your Own Device. Students may be allowed to use their electronic device during class for instructional purposes only. Personal use of a cell phone or ear pods is prohibited inside the building on their person. Phones or headphones and airpods used for personal use will be confiscated and subject to a $15 fine. Cellphones and airpods are required to be in lockers or backpacks. Not on the person. Forgotten Items- If you forget something at home check between classes or at lunch. In middle school we ask that you check in the office for your forgotten items. Calling students out of class disrupts class time. Lockers- Students will be using lockers during the 24-25 school year. Students need two locks, one for hall locker and one for PE locker
Attendance and Tardies Miss a day, miss a LOT! Make sure you get your make up work, it s your responsibility to do so. Call in absences to attendance clerk, send doctor notes to office. Tardies- ensure that you are getting to class on time, each time. PE Notes go to the PE coach not to the nurse, unless extra accommodations need to be made for long term circumstances. Nurse needs updated immunization records as soon as possible or before the start of school. Please contact nurse for any medical issues, food allergies, medication or special needs for students.
Dress Code 2024-2025 Uniforms are required Tops Type: Standard uniform solid 3-button polo shirts Wednesday- College Shirts are allowed Friday- School Spirit shirts are allowed Color: turquoise, black, or ash-gray Undershirts must NOT be visible, or must be turquoise or grey. Bottoms Type: Standard uniform cotton twill pants, capri, or shorts/skorts/skirts (to the knee) Color: Khaki or black colored. Not allowed: yoga pants, stretch pants, leggings, jeggings, and Spandex. No oversized, baggy, or sagging pants. No faded, frayed edges, tears, or holes on clothing.
Dress Code 2024-2025 Jackets Must be lightweight in solid turquoise, grey, or black. PTO will be selling Brown MS hoodies and jackets. Accessories Must not pose a safety hazard to the student or others or cause a classroom distraction. Not allowed: Extreme make-up, excessive jewelry, earrings longer than 1 , gauges or ear spikes, chains, writing on clothing, studded items. No facial piercing; only ear piercing allowed. Shoes Shoes must fully cover toes and heels. Crocs must be worn is sports mode only. Not allowed: sandals, slippers, open-toe, backless, shower shoes, or flip flops. Hair Color must be a natural hair color or hue.
Non-Uniform Guidelines: Tops: Any T-shirt, blouse, or polo shirt with sleeves and non- offensive language or logos Bottoms: Knee Length shorts, skirts, skorts, pants, or jeans with no tears or frays Unacceptable (Uniform & Non-Uniforms Items): Body piercing (exception ears) Large earrings Unnatural hair color Distracting haircuts (administration decision) Sunglasses (inside the building) Spandex Spaghetti strap shirts Tank tops or sleeveless tops Pajama wear or slippers Flip Flops or open back shoes Pictures that are lewd, vulgar, offensive, or gang related Advertise or depict tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, drugs, or any other substance prohibited Visible tattoos Pants must be worn at hip level; no sagging pants Non-uniform guidelines

Schedules and Schedule Changes 8 period day Schedules are being built. Schedules will be visible in Parent and Student portal as soon as district finalizes the roll to the 2024-2025 School Year. Elective schedule change requests can be emailed to the grade level counselor. Schedule change requests will be accepted from August 12th thru August 16th . We will accept elective change requests as course space permits. IMPORTANT: Students enrolled in Pre AP who start the school year in Pre AP must remain in Pre AP courses through at least the semester. The last day to add or exit a Pre Ap course is August 5, 2024.
Programs and Schedules TRADITIONAL CORE CURRICULUM MATH, SCIENCE, ENGLISH/LANGUAGE ARTS, SOCIAL STUDIES, PE, 2 ELECTIVES, INTERVENTION/ENRICHMENT HONORS CLASSES OFFERED TO CORE CURRICULUM AND GT STUDENTS , 2 ELECTIVES, PE, AND INTV/ENRICHMENT
Programs and Schedules GT (gifted and talented) must go through the district testing process to be identified as GT. Please see your current Elementary counselor for testing information. Middle School testing will not be available until after school year begins. GT (gifted and talented) Curriculum Honors Math, Honors Science, Honors ELAR, Honors Social Studies PE, Enrichment/Intv, 2 electives GT students do NOT have to be in all Pre Ap classes. Students have the option to choose what classes they will participate in : Pre AP classes or Core curriculum.
Behavior Expectations Schoolwide Discipline Expectations Be kind to one another Keep hands and feet to yourself, even if you are playing Maintain safe, supportive learning environment Behavior Expectations begin now. Please be mindful of your actions and behavior over the summer. Especially with your social media and online etiquette. Class Expectations- Be on time. Be engaged (participating in class). Bring all needed supplies.
Drop off and Pick-Up School begins at 7:45 bell to class rings at 7:40 Use loop at cafeteria of school for drop off and pick up, arrive after 7 a.m. First couple of weeks are not the norm, please be patient! Bus Routes
