Strengthen relationship between AASL National and State Affiliates Timeline Event June 2014 New Strategic Plan- Goal: Grow and strengthen AASL s community- specifically the relationship with state affiliates MW 2015 Facilitated Harwood Exercise: Asking the state affiliates what their aspirations were for the affiliate assembly Annual 2015 Leadership Conference- content developed from MW Harwood material MW 2016 New Affiliate Assembly structure developed- to include an aspiration exercise Annual 2016 Continued mini Leadership Conference and follow-up Harwood exercise based on MW15 outcomes
Strengthen relationship between AASL National and State Affiliates Outcomes: 1) AASL and Affiliate become stronger 2) Leaders will rise faster 3) Concerns will be addressed earlier and have greater impact. MOST IMPORTANT: As Affiliates are given additional tools and resources (they ask for through their aspirations ) the services they offer to school librarians within their state expands and AASL s mission to empower leaders to transform teaching and learning is met.
