  1. WFPS Outreach & Training Implementation Team Report Scott Bowe, Gretchen Marshall, Don Peterson, Mark Rickenbach (chair), Steve Ring, Kris Tiles (also facilitated), and Ken Zabel

  2. Focus on three recommendations Foster landowner outreach programs on the value of forestry to achieve multiple objectives. Continue and expand statewide forester economic training. Improve forester northern hardwoods management training.

  3. Landowner outreach Provide adequate funding to meet outreach needs and foster program innovation; perhaps in partnership with SFI. Coordinate various outreach and education activities. New funding should include expectations of program evaluation and accountability.

  4. Forester economics training Continue and expand forest economics and operations trainings. Future trainings should involve WFPS investigators to maximize translation of research into practice.

  5. Forester northern hardwoods management training Develop tools and curriculum toward implementing full range of management options. Implement interactive trainings that allow constructive dialogue across forester types.
