What’s the word around town
Edmonton, located in Alberta's parkland natural region, boasts a diverse landscape characterized by forested river valleys, deciduous woodlands, and wetlands. The city's flat terrain is ideal for agriculture and mining, with fertile soil supporting the growth of pine and deciduous trees. Edmonton experiences a varied climate, ranging from hot summers to snowy winters, offering a range of outdoor activities for residents and visitors. However, environmental issues such as deforestation threaten the local ecosystem, prompting initiatives like tree planting to combat habitat loss and promote sustainability.

Environmental issue interior plains Deforestation: animals lose their habitat and losing more animals and we lose shade. Cause: people are cutting down trees for furniture also mining is not making it better because they need room, so they cut the trees. Forest fires are it making much worse because if it s a big fire then it gets harder to put out so by the time the fires are out lots of trees are burnt down. Consequence: if we lose all of our trees, we lose most of our animals which will cause extinction. Trees breath in carbon dioxide and let out oxygen so we will lots of carbon dioxide and less oxygen. Solution: Some places people are not allowed to cut down trees. People are planting more trees Like #team tree. Team tree is an organization to plant 20 million trees
