Coaching If you mislead a player, you lose them forever. If you tell them the truth, you lose them for about 24 hours. -Jim Leyland
Advice for Parents 1) Make sure your son gets off to a good academic start Synergy, Coaching Staff Support. 2) Encourage your son to be a multi sport athlete as long as possible. 3) Encourage your son to hang in there with football understand the process A , B , JV Team. 4) Prepare your son for the path, not the path for your son. 5) Love your son, don t fall in love with him. 6) Release your son to athletics, let us coach them and push them 7) Be happy for other players 8) Adults have changed, kids are a result of that
Behavior Expectations Grades- It is why you are at White Bear Attendance- Grades are determined a lot of times on your attendance In class participation- Raise your hand, listen, contribute. What are you here for? You get out what you put in

9thGrade FAQ Is their tryouts? No, Everyone makes the team! There is a A and B team. Teams practice together Is their practice everyday? Yes right after school. No weekend practices or games Is there a bus ride home after school? During school yes, during August practice no. Activity bus leaves after practice is over during the season Is gear provided? Buy your own girdle, mouth guard, practice jersey, lock and cleats. Everything else is provided. During school what is the schedule? Players report to the locker room right after school, have a meeting, then have practice and head home. Buses are provided after practices during school Is a bus provided to games? Yes, players are required to take the bus to and from road games When do I officially sign up for football? Online sign up starts in July When are games? A games are typically Wednesdays nights and B games are typically Thursdays. This can change weekly Practice starts August 11th. Practices 7:30-11:45 the first two weeks of practice in August 9thGrade FAQ on website under registration tab Can 9th graders play on 10th, JV or Varsity? Yes

9th-12thGrade Practice Summer practices will be 9-12 During the season we will combine grades at times Teams will be on there own as well Levels the players play is fluid We have had 9th and 10th graders play up on 10th/JV,Varsity etc We start the best 22 players in the program on varsity

Community Service MSHSCA community service team award winner! Coach for Varsity is coach Reynolds, coach Zabadal for Sophomores You have to meet your standard to earn your bear claw Fundraisers do NOT count towards community service. 12thgraders- 12 hours 11thgraders- 10 hours 10thgraders- 8 hours 9thgraders- 0 hours Parents contact me with opportunities

Summer Weight Training Sign up on Edutrak Summer weights is at the High School Hannah and training haus staff run weighs. Coaches are at sessions as well 9th-12th grade football Lift 8:00AM-9:30 M-TH Sign up is online now, if your free and reduced email Brian Peloquin for payment options. You will need cleats, mouthguard, helmet, shoulder pads and practice jersey
Practice Jersey You will buy your jersey from me. It is $45. All players must have a practice jersey. They can also be purchased tomorrow June 3rd at equipment issue. Bring a lock and lock your stuff up 9-12 Equipment handout will be tomorrow June 3rd starting at 3:30 with Seniors followed by Juniors, Sophs and then Freshman Check or cash. Checks made out to WBLAHS
7 on 7s/Summer Scrimmage 7 on 7 Mondays 10th/Varsity at WBL High School at 10:15AM starting June 16th 9th grade only 7 on 7 at Anoka High School. 6-8PM July 9th, 16th and 23rd. 10th grade only 7 on 7 July 16th 5:30PM @ Centenial High School. Hopefully adding Monday morning as well July 17th 10th/Varsity scrimmage @ Chaska 9AM
Midnight Madness By law we cannot begin until 12:00AM August 11th 11thand 12th ONLY (9th/10th/youth players come watch with supervision) We want to start the very first second we can Players will be home by 1:30 Fans are strongly encouraged
Two A Days Start August 11th 10th/Varsity 7:30AM-2:00PM most days, check calendar for adjustments 9thgrade 7:30AM-11:45AM most days, check with coaches for adjustments in times Tennis shoes, shorts, t-shirt, football gear at all of two a days WASH YOUR CLOTH First 5 days are non contact for all players We have practice, meetings, weight lifting, film study, conditioning, etc.
Practice All players must be at all practices An unexcused absence to practice is an automatic 1/2 game suspension An unexcused absence is a no call, no note and no communication with a coach If you are not at school, it is considered an excused absence Please schedule dentist/doctors in the summer as much as possible
Unity Night This is for 11th and 12th graders It is going to be Monday August 18th at 5PM in the stadium Players will wear jerseys and handout jerseys to all our youth players Seniors will sign autographs We are uniting our youth and varsity team this night and for the season Hoping to create and expand this new tradition
Labor Day and MEA Labor Day: No Practice 9thGrade 10-12thpractice at 3PM MEA October 16th and 17th Varsity players off from Thursday afternoon of MEA until Monday. 9th/10th grade off MEA.
Zero Hour Weights Players entering 10th-12th next year are asked to sign up for zero hour fall weights. This will be when we lift as a team You will get Phy Ed credit The class is a hybrid and you will only attend class to lift twice a week Hanna will run the class and coach Bartlett and Holman will be the teachers If you absolutely cannot fit it in your schedule, contact coach Bartlett
Fundraising and Team Fee This year it is $235 for football registration and a $260 team fee When players pay the team fee this year they will be given their bear cards the first week of football You keep what you sell! If you sell 25 Bear Cards, you will earn $500 You can offset costs by selling your cards For free and reduced lunch the team fee and registration will be reduced

College Football What are his grades? What type of teammate is he? Does he take to coaching? First three questions I get the most Stats are not as important as you think Recruiting will pick up after the season for most kids Talk with coach Bartlett 1 on 1 if your interested at some point Pick out a few camps to attend in the summer of schools your interested in going to College coaches want to see you at camp
