John 6:66-69 66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

Jesus taught the people to believe on Him and abide in His Word He likened His word to spiritual food He stated they would have to eat of His flesh and Blood, that is follow His word - John 6:47-59 This was a shocking saying to the Jews - John 6:60-65 Commanded to not eat flesh with the blood and to abstain from blood This hard saying of Jesus was not hard to understand but hard to accept Many left Him - John 6:66 Introduction

  4. Jesus then posed a question to His 12 apostles Will you also go away? - vs. 67 What would be your response if Jesus asked you this question? This is a question we should ask ourselves Peter had the right answer to the question of Jesus Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life - vs. 68 Introduction

Paul s Reliance On Conscience Was His Downfall And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day - Acts 23:1 Paul s Conscience Lead Him to Persecute Saints Acts 26:9-11 Paul Was Saved By Obeying the Words of Instruction He Received From Ananias That He Was Told He must do - Acts 9:1-10; 22:16

Our Feelings Can Deceive Us There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death - Proverbs 14:12; 16:25 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps - Jeremiah 10:23 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered - Proverbs 28:26 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding - Proverbs 3:5

The Wisdom of Man Is Foolishness in God s Sight Man Regards God s Word as Foolishness 1 Corinthians 1:18-29; Proverbs 1:7 Man s Thoughts and Ways Cannot Be Compared To God s Thoughts and Ways!
