DEFINITION OF MORAL RESPONSIBILITY Moral responsibility is the state of being morally deserving of praise, blame, reward, or punishment for an act or omission that is consistent with one's moral obligations, according to philosophy. Determining what (if anything) qualifies "morally obligatory" is a basic problem in ethics. 3
WHY CORPORATIONS SHOULD HAVE MORAL RESPONSIBILITY ? Because they can help and have a good impact on our society in a variety of ways that influence politicians' thinking, such as pollution, forced labor, unethical behavior, and so on. 4
EXAMPLE Coca-Cola launched the 5by20 project in 2010 with the goal of empowering women all around the world. According to the firm, we help women entrepreneurs overcome social and economic hurdles by offering business skills training, access to financial services and assets, and relationships with peers and mentors through 5by20 programs throughout the world. 5 by20 women work in a variety of jobs throughout our value chain, including merchants, suppliers, producers, craftsmen, and others.
