Makes the World Less Attractive Love for the world is big hindrance All that is in the world leads to suffering 1 John 2:15-17 God wants us to long to be rid of this life and its burdens 2 Corinthians 5:1-2
Makes the World Less Attractive We are just pilgrims in this world 1 Peter 2:11 He has promised a better place Revelation 21:3-4 Lay up your treasure in heaven Matthew 6:19-21
Makes Us Trust In God Apostle Paul is a great example Jesus said he d suffer greatly Acts 9:16 Endured tremendous amount of suffering 2 Corinthians 11:23-28 Paul learned to trust God 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 God wants suffering to lead to trust With blessings come persecutions Mark 10:28-30 Nothing better than prayers! Trials make us complete James 1:2-4
Silences the Enemies of God Enduring is proof of salvation Philippians 1:27-30 Example of Job God allowed Satan to afflict Job Job 1:8-12 Job lost his family, his wealth, and his health but not his trust in God In the end what could the enemy say?
