Background on Accountability Ratings Ratings are based on the performance of all students, and of lowest 25% of students Ratings are longitudinal, combining 2022 (40%) and 2023 (60%) data Ratings are composed of: Overall MCAS achievement (3x weight) & growth Additional indicators Chronic absenteeism; MCAS participation rate (all grade levels) 4-yr & extended graduation rate, & drop-out rate; advanced coursework completion (HS - 30% of rating) State provides district rating; school rating; ratings on performance of student subgroups
2023 Accountability Ratings HEADLINES 1. 2023 was the first year since schools in the state were issued percentile rankings that MHS, MMS and Toy Town were all above the 10th percentile, the typical state threshold for removing a school from accountability status 2. The district made substantial progress towards targets - 61%. This is the highest %age we have yet reached 3. Of 26 subgroup performance indicators, WPS students made progress on 24, with no change on 2. Student performance did not decline on a single indicator
