RETHINKING PATENT APPLICATION New patent application currently under development Customer centered, holystic approach Web forms instead of PDFs Requests status to stay informed of the processing Application to DAS by using the API As an OFF As an OSF 3
WIPO DAS API USAGE As OFF Constraint: National Defense vetting before transmission of document to any party Expected usage Retreive a DAS code at customer s request Provide the document when requested by an OSF if vetted 4
WIPO DAS API USAGE As OSF Implemented in the application under development Usage at filing Request DAS number and DAS code in the application web form Immediately request the document to DAS to check the validity of the numbers Beware that DAS doucment number != application number After application is filed, daily request until priority document is retreived If priority data is given at a later moment, request on demand for formality officer 5
WIPO DAS API IMPLEMENTATION Implementation in new patent application started in october 2024 Difficulties encountered The API documentation was under revision and not stabilized Extra exchanges, delays Script exemples were deprecated Authentication is secure but hard to set up Beware of the IP address filter ! API new ST.92 response As an OSF => evolution is forseen within the 3 next years Will be implemented as OFF 6
