Final Projects In groups Build your own wireless system with the technologies and hardware we have discussed in this class Task: build a functional prototype 2
Project ideas Project is wide open, be creative! Some project ideas on canvas. However, your project must have a purpose. Why would anyone care about your idea? What problem does it solve? Not interested in building stuff just for the sake of building stuff. 3
Requirements Must use wireless. Must use at least one device from the class. Exceptions must be approved. Implementation must have at least one of the following: Multiple wireless protocols Advanced feature of the wireless protocol not covered in labs Data collection, analysis, and presentation Connection with smartphone, web service, or third party service/device Deployment lasting 3+ days with experience results 4
Idea discussion Next Monday in class each group will meet with Marshall or me 8 minutes/group Write one paragraph describing your idea and system We will provide some feedback to make sure you are on the right track Too difficult? Too easy? Suitable application/use case? Meets the requirement? 5
Project showcase During the exam slot May 6, 2-5pm In this room (Thornton A120) Format Each group will demo their wireless system Two rounds: half groups present, other half visit demos per round Deliverables Code 1 picture or system diagram A paragraph describing the system (for website) 6
