Setting the stage Centre of transformation must be a commitment to workplace well- being and mental health, free of harassment and discrimination Workplace Well-being and Mental Health Strategy oAnnounced February 22, 2019 oEstablishes commitment and key areas of focus out to 2021 oChad Westmacott and Luc Ladouceur named co-Champions Well-being is a top corporate commitment for EX PMAs PSES results show efforts needed to improve well-being 3
Governance Strategy Goal 5: strengthen organizational wellness capabilities oRole of mental wellness steering committee in delivering strategy Workplace Wellness Committee: Champions of all sectors/regions Purpose: oEngage employees to take charge of their mental health and contribute oConnect and share ideas and initiatives oSupport the implementation of the strategy Build on and support sector/regional wellness committees; Human Resources Branch active member and secretariat Report up through People Management Committee Regular reporting to NUMCC 4

Mindfulness Training MindWell-U proposed ISC participate in Mindfulness Challenge Year-long mindfulness-based organization development and training oExecutive training o30-day Mindfulness Challenge; weekly boosters following Supports Well-being strategy Goals 1, 2 and 5 oPSES points to high levels of stress and harassment oTraining helps staff manage stress and increase civility among staff oNumber of other departments doing training and getting good results Full department needs to have access Looking to include Indigenous teachings, lessons, knowledge, culture Examining benefit/cost and affordability 6
