The firstworkshop 8/2 Was mapping the needs of the participants as wellas what they wished for to see happen in this field
1. Leadership General facilities for understanding how successfully develop transdisciplinary research leadership what does it take to make this successful and what would it be like if the humanities area were the project lead for a natural science project within the environmental area
2. Arena Need to understand what the arena looks like. We need to make an inventory of what type of hubs there are on the arena of the environmental humanities area and how they work, such as Puffendorff, The Seedbox, The Neuchatel experiment etc, in order to figure out what we are aiming for in the long term.
3. Strengths of SU compared to other universities. We need to get a better understanding for what strengths SU has in the field of human science/environmental research and the humanities area in order to pitch ourselves right. One of the identified strengths of SU is that we have a geographical nearness to a variety of collections, in museums, datasets in archives etc. And we need to understand how to activate these collections through our research.
4. Facilities to showcase research Ways to communicate your research-how to get on the map and how to lift research from SU to Global impact translate research
5. NETWORKING: Need to know who is doing what -more detail Speed dating Tinder app for scientists Listing with key interests, project ideas, (searchable database Mapping of what s going on which who, who s available Faculty club -after work for meeting and hatching ideas
6. FOLLOW UP: opportunities to move from interest to concrete ideas and suggestions about how things can be put together
7. Formal proposal development Workshop for proposal development Thematic Workshops
8. Funding for risky projects small/micro test projects or writing retreats 9. Funding for inviting inspirational lecturers from abroad seminar series
10. Resources to cover investment of time to free people up from other activities (Funding for MA/PhD students to carry out tasks) Time for proposal writing, etc. paid time for exchanges
11. Teaching/learning exchange Methods for doing inter/transdisciplinary research -this is a skill set Methods for teaching Collaboration methods
