  3. World Cultures In this class, students will be taught how to: Identify various geographic regions of the world. Analyze how geography affects the way societies live. Create, read, & decipher maps, graphs, & charts. Learn about cultural diversity through the study of religion, customs, food, history, economics, & literature of different cultures.

  4. Common Core Through our learning an emphasis will be placed on reading nonfiction and informational texts. Students will practice using textual evidence to support their answers when completing assignments. Students will learn to summarize key ideas when reading informational texts.

  5. Grading Students will be assessed through a variety of methods including: Class participation = this includes maintaining a student binder, completion of classroom assignments & readings, possible unit projects, and being prepared for class. Homework - minimal but when it is assigned; it is expected to be completed. Tests & quizzes - There will be a test or quiz for each unit. Students will always receive a study guide to prepare for each test.
