  1. Wyoming Search and Rescue Council Presentation to the Travel, Recreation, Wildlife & Cultural Resources Committee In memory of Ray Shriver who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Ray was a founding member of Teton County Search and Rescue. 6/27/2019 - 6/28/2019 8:30 a.m. Shriver was killed February 15, 2012 near Togwotee Mountain Lodge while on a mission to assist an injured snowmobiler. Gillette College, TEC 136 300 W. Sinclair Gillette, Wyoming The helicopter Shriver was riding in went down in high winds. Shriver and fellow TCSAR volunteer Mike Moyer were injured, as was the pilot Ken Johnson.

  2. The Wyoming Office of Homeland Security serves as the account manager and operates using guidance from W.S. 19, Chapter 13, Article 3 and the Wyoming Search and Rescue Council (SAR).   3. How the Search and Rescue Account is Funded Individuals purchasing the following license or registrations may voluntarily donate $2.00 or more to the Search and Rescue Fund. Hunting or fishing license Snowmobile registration Off-road vehicle registration Boat registration Private donations are also accepted Donations are collected by Wyoming Game & Fish and Wyoming State Parks and are transferred to the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security.   4. Search and Rescue Council The Search and Rescue Council is made up of 11 members appointed by the governor. All terms are four years. Four Wyoming County Sheriffs One Wyoming Peace Officer Five Wyoming residents One Wyoming County Commissioner Director, Wyoming Office of Homeland Security or their designee. The Council meets a minimum of two times a year. The summer meeting consists of mission claim reimbursements, loss/damage claims and training reimbursements. Fall meeting is an administrative meeting and also includes reimbursement of training claims and any new equipment purchases.   6. Financial Information Currently the Search and Rescue fund has a balance of $1,426,711.42. Search and Rescue funds are spent on the following: 2017 Revenue $328,123 Costs/Reimbursements $92,648.44 Reimbursements to sheriffs for mission costs, training, loss and damage of equipment. Sheriffs may also seek funds for new equipment. Cost of meetings (lodging, per diem) and partial salary of WOHS staff member who coordinates SAR Council activities. 2018 Revenue $131,842.62 Costs/Reimbursements $321,483 2019 Revenue $118,443 Costs/Reimbursements $233,050.40 Presentation to the Travel, Recreation, Wildlife & Cultural Resources Committee
