Purpose of the AHPP Grants The purpose of the grant programs is to encourage and promote preservation of Arkansas s historic resources by providing financial assistance for preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of historic properties. Warren Depot Warren, AR Bradley County
AHPP grant programs strive to: Help keep historic properties in use Assist in keeping historic properties sound, safe, comfortable and viable Aid in identifying and prioritizing building or property deficiencies Assist in meeting the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 Former 1st Presbyterian Church Des Arc, Prairie County
Structurally Sound Projects that address deficiencies that affect the structural integrity of the building
Identify Deficiencies Projects that keep moisture from entering the building
Safe and Comfortable Projects that address issues of occupant safety or threats to the property
ADA Requirements Projects that address issues related to compliance with the American s with Disabilities Act of 1990.
Historic Preservation Restoration Grants Option 1 For properties listed in the Arkansas Register of Historic Places or non-contributing properties in a National Register Historic District To aid in completing work that would make a property National Register eligible. Grant amounts up to $10,000 (maximum project $15,000) Property MUST be listed in the National Register when work is completed. Requires a cash match 1/3 of the total project cost Available to individual private property owners

Historic Preservation Restoration Grants Option 2 Must be listed in the National Register of Historic Places Must be owned by a not-for-profit organization [501(c)(3)] or county or city government. Minimum grant amount of $10,000 (min. project cost $15,000) Requires a cash match, 1/3 of the total project cost Requires the donation of a conservation easement

County Courthouse Grants County Courthouse Grants The AHPP's County Courthouse Restoration Subgrants have been used to help restore 79 historic county courthouses and courthouse annexes in 67 of the state's 75 counties since they were created in 1989, helping to extend the lives of structures that hold vital links to community pride and local history. Main Street Arkansas Grants (MSA) Main Street Arkansas Grants (MSA) The Public Art Grant Program assists communities that participate in the Main Street Arkansas program in the planning and implementation (including purchasing and commissioning works of art) of public art for places viewable by the public within the Main Street district and on gateways to Main Street districts. Certified Local Government (CLG) Certified Local Government (CLG) City and county governments in Arkansas that participate in the AHPP's Certified Local Government (CLG) program are eligible for pass-through grants from the federal Historic Preservation Fund. CLG pass-through grants can be used for a variety of local historic preservation projects, including architectural surveys of historic sites or districts, preparation of nominations for the National Register of Historic Places, development of educational materials for historic property owners, and rehabilitation of local historic structures.
