  3. LI REGISTRATION - SMP Pre-registration for LI must be done during 12th 14th Week in Semester 1 2022/2023. 3

  8. STUDENTS FINAL REPORT Report must be completed before the end of internship duration and submit to the Visiting Lecturer for evaluation. Submission must be done by uploading the report in the LI system. At the same time, the printed version must be handed over to the Industrial Training and Career Unit (ITC Unit) for record purposes. 8

  9. STUDENTS FINAL REPORT (cont.) Please also attach the hardcopy of attendance sheet in the report. Students are encouraged to obtain consent from Industrial Supervisor to publish or use any information related to the organization (refer to the Industrial Training Guideline). The TOC for final report can be obtained from the Industrial Training Guideline. 9

  10. IMPLEMENTATION OF INDUSTRIAL TRAINING The students must ensure to perform the task that are related to the Job Scope during the training. Please report to the respective Department Coordinator/ITC Unit at the earliest possible time or during initial monitoring period if any discrepancies/abnormalities happened during the training. Students are NOT allowed to withdraw the internship course without permission from ITC Unit. The students is not allowed to take any form of leave except those authorized by the organization. If any unauthorized leave is taken, the students must replace the number of days equal to the number of leave days taken. 10

  11. INITIAL MONITORING BY VISITING LECTURER Refer to the Industrial Training system to determine your respective Visiting Lecturer. The initial visit will be performed between 2nd and 4th Week of industrial training. (6th March 25th March) Visitations are normally on-site (physical); however, virtual visits can be arranged in times of emergency. During the visit, the presence of your industrial supervisor is recommended. Preferably, the students should also prepare a Gantt Chart to show your planning/activities throughout your internship duration. A short/quick tour of your workplace/work-station during the visit would be a great. 11

  12. FINAL MONITORING BY THE VISITING LECTURER The final visit will be performed between 22nd and 24th Week of training. (24th July 11th August) Visiting Lecturer will set an appointment with the Industrial Supervisor before the visit. During this visit, the student is expected to prepare a detailed presentation of what you have done during the entire industrial training. 12

EVALUATION CRITERIA Internship grade will be evaluated based on: Visiting Lecturer (10%) Industrial Supervisor (40%) Student s Report (40%) Logbook and Attendance (10%) All hardcopy documents should be submitted to the ITC Unit during the Industrial Training Day (date will be determined later). 13

  14. Industrial Training Day Will be held at the Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology, UPM. Date will be determined later (in between 21st 25th August 2023) Students are required to submit the following hardcopy to the Industrial Training Unit: 1. Final report 2. Logbook 3. Organization evaluation form 4. Industrial evaluation (if available). 14

  15. WORK ETHICS You are the ambassador of UPM! Formal attire but it is also depending on the company policy.   18. CANCELLATION OF INTERNSHIP PLACEMENT Please DO NOT simply reject your confirmed internship placement. 18

  19. Why need to seek advise for your internship placement??? To ensure you get a right place for your training. You must consider these criteria when make a choice: Job prospect at the organization. The right job scope that allows you to apply what you have learned and gives you the opportunities to learn new things. To be rightly assessed according to the requirement set out by the Faculty. 19
