  3. 1. Purpose To mediate the amendments of the trimmed and re-organised 2020 Annual Teaching Plan including School Based Assessment for Technical Mathematics, Grade 12 for implementation in June 2020 as stipulated in Circular S2 of 2020. To ensure that meaningful teaching proceeds during the remaining teaching time as per the revised school calendar. To assist teachers with guided pacing and sequencing of curriculum content and assessment.

  4. 1. Purpose (continued) To enable teachers to cover the essential core content /skills in each grade within the available time. To assist teachers with planning for the different forms of assessment. To ensure learners are adequately prepared for the subsequent year/s in terms of content, skills, knowledge, attitudes and values

  5. 2. Amendments to the Content Overview for the Phase

  6. Summary: Amendments to the Content Overview for the Phase Grade 12 No content will be removed from the entire Annual Teaching Plan. All content topics will be part of end of year final examination Term 1 Content has already been completed.

  7. Summary: Amendments to the Content Overview for the Phase Grade 12 Term 2 Content will commence on 1st June 2020.

  9. Summary: Reorganisation of content topics There will be no significant reorganisation of content The number of formal tasks have been reduce from seven to six

Summary: Amendment to the weighting of content topics The weighting of content remains unchanged: Topic Interpreting and communicating answers and calculations Numbers and calculations with numbers Patterns, relationships and representations Finance Measurement Maps, plans and other representations of the physical world Data handling Probability/Likelihood Weighting (%) Basic Skills Topics will be assessed in an integrated way throughout the Application Topics. 35% ( 5%) 20% ( 5%) 15% ( 5%) Application Topics 25% ( 5%) 5% ( 5%)
