Purpose To mediate the amendments of the trimmed and re-organised 2020 Annual Teaching Plan including School Based Assessment for History, Grade 12 for implementation in June 2020 as stipulated in Circular S2 of 2020. To ensure that meaningful teaching proceeds during the remaining teaching time as per the revised school calendar. To assist teachers with guided pacing and sequencing of curriculum content and assessment.

  4. 1. Purpose (continued) To enable teachers to cover the essential core content /skills in each grade within the available time. To assist teachers with planning for the different forms of assessment. To ensure learners are adequately prepared for the subsequent year/s in terms of content, skills, knowledge, attitudes and values

Summary: Reorganisation of content topics The final examination is structured in such a way that all six topics are included in P1 and P2 respectively The candidates need to answer Three questions per paper Therefore No topics were trimmed, reorganised or removed in Grade 12 so that the candidates would still have a choice

Summary: Revised Programme of Assessment TERM 2 Source-based task or Essay (completed) handed in and recorded TERM 1 TERM 3 Source-based and Essay Task (Under controlled conditions in class 2 Hours) 100 Marks TERM 4 Research Assignment Issued in Term 1 to be 50 Marks Standardised Test (completed) 50 Marks Source-based and Essay Task (50 x 2 = 100) September Trial Exams FINAL EXAMS (2 x 3 Hour Papers) TWO PAPERS OF 150 MARKS EACH To replace the June exam 100 x 2 (Under controlled in class 2 Hours) 200 Marks JUNE EXAMS REMOVED THE SBA WILL REMAIN WITH 6 TASKS AND THE FINAL EXAMS 100 Marks Research assignment (can also be done in the second term) 300 Marks 25% = 100 MARKS 75% = 300 MARKS
