Analyzing The Problems of Character Education in Primary Schools Adit Yuliani Pendidikan Dasar, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia
The implementation of character education in elementary schools is a reference in instilling student character so that they can be free from disrespectful behaviour that can become a habit that is continuously carried out until adulthood Introduction A person's personality can be formed from doctrine so that it is able to shape his views and thoughts on the deeds and actions that will be carried out At present, many students have a moral crisis due to the lack of emphasis on character education. Problems that occur in elementary schools are dishonest behaviour by students, lack of discipline such as not obeying school rules and not attending on time, and not being independent 2
Based on the background, several works of literature on the problems of character education in primary schools were analysed. The literature analysis focuses on aspects that become research questions, namely: 1. What are the problems of character education in primary schools? 2. How is character education implemented in primary schools? 3. What is the importance of character education in primary schools? Introduction 3
Method Using a qualitative approach with a systematic literature review (SLR) method. Data collection was sought through Google Schoolar database searches and obtained from sinta accredited journals by adjusting the topic. Obtained as many as 10 articles from 2018-2023. 4

The solution to character cultivation is to remind students to do good and provide motivation. The school has a habit of embedding local language-based local content so as to instil students to get used to Javanese and love their local culture and language. The problem that occurs in elementary schools is that students have not been able to respect their elders and have not been able to speak well with their elders. The solution is to give direction to students in the form of undisciplined action. Discussion Problems of Character in Primary School Implementation of Character Education in Primary Schools The Importance of Character Education in Primary Schools Character problems in elementary schools that occur are such as disrespect by communicating that is not polite, not paying attention to the learning process that is being taught by the teacher, disturbing his learning, fighting, skipping class, and being undisciplined such as not following applicable school rules. Some schools have implemented habituation to character values. carried out in schools on religious values, namely dhuha prayers, recitation, and dzuhur prayers in congregation. Then character of caring for the surrounding environment, namely by throwing garbage in its place. The importance of character education in primary schools is so that students can foster good morals and personality from an early age. Conclusion Character education in primary schools is the most important aspect in instilling positive character values from an early age in order to foster good morals and attitudes. One of the ways character education exists in schools is by implementing continuous habituation so that it becomes a habit for students to apply in everyday life. Habituation can also be applied through integrating subjects with character values such as tucking character education in each lesson and providing local content to foster an attitude of love for the country. The importance of character education in primary schools aims to instil character values in the hope of developing students who are responsible, honest, disciplined, independent, and able to cooperate with the surrounding environment.
