Return to Campus Student Services Student Services will offer in-person support services on campus for fall based on a hybrid-coverage approach Use of online support tools such as LiveChat and Virtual Counter drop in appointments will continue Student Activities, clubs, and learning communities will open based on specific plans for each area Food Pantry will be reopened Student Activities and Campus Life will resume based on protocols from public health and the Return to Campus recommendations Private offices may be used without prior approval but not for meeting with students Designated rooms will be established for counselor-student sessions Free technology loan program for students will continue in the Fall and technology and access will be improved in Library and other shared student spaces Mental health support for students and employees will continue (EAP, ACTs and CHWAG) Community Medical Center will be open 5 days a week to encourage vaccinations 20

  21. Additional Guidance and Recommendations for Return to Campus

  22. Vaccination Mandated Vaccination for Employees: Yes The Return to Campus (RTC) subcommittee and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) both voted to recommend that the District mandate vaccines (once fully approved by the Food and Drug Administration) for employees subject to medical and possible religious exemptions. Mandated Vaccination for Students: No The Return to Campus subcommittee voted not to recommend that the District mandate vaccinations for students at this time, but is going to consider further recommendations from student cohort programs such as POST, Nursing, and Athletics. 22

  23. Masks & Social Distancing Social Distancing: No The RTC and ERT both voted to recommend that the District follow the state guidelines of eliminating the social distancing requirements on campus including indoors and in classrooms. Mandated Masks for Faculty and Staff: No The RTC and ERT voted to recommend that we follow all CalOSHA guidelines most recently amended requiring that only employees who are unvaccinated wear N95 masks, and all fully vaccinated employees are not required to wear masks. The RTC further recommends we continue our existing mask campaign to highly recommend and encourage the wearing of masks but not mandate. Mandated Masks for Students and Visitors: No The RTC and ERT voted to recommend that the District no longer mandate masks for students and visitors, unless they self-identify as unvaccinated. Again, RTC stressed the importance of promoting our masks campaign. 23

  24. Health Checks, Events & Travel Temperature Checks and Health Screening: No RTC and ERT both recommend the District follow the state public health guidelines and no longer continue the daily temperature and health screening questions. RTC recommends we continue encourage those that are sick to stay home. Theatre Productions & Rental: Yes RTC, recommends that the theatre be allowed to resume operations without distancing limitations and no mask requirements. Reopening the Zone: Yes RTC and ERT both recommend that Athletics reopen The Zone the tutoring and study room for student athletes. Travel & Conferences: Yes District travel for conferences to resume following normal approval procedures. 24
