CTE Review with Board 6-7-2011
6-7-2011 Review CTE has been a part of our school district over the years under various namesakes and many different offerings. Evolved from the old vocational education programs , PCHS offerings centered mainly on business education classes. Limited success expanding our offerings.
6-7-2011 Review Barriers to expansion of offerings: Coordination with 4 school district calendars Coordination of 4 high school schedules Transportation Student/parent apathy towards offerings The demographics of the district s student and parent population have radically changed over the past 15 years.
6-7-2011 Review There is a greater need to ensure that all of our students are receiving the appropriate classes and coursework that will allow them to succeed in their post high school endeavors. Looking to introduce Project Based Courses that can serve as career pathways to further job and educational opportunities, or higher level skills that allow students to enter the workforce ready to work. (Identified in Strategic Plan Choice/Options)

6-7-2011 Review Began a dialogue with Administrators of Westminster College Discussions have encompassed a wide variety of possible partnerships (to follow)
