Mandates & Initiatives Mandates & Initiatives MESA Director This is a 12-month full-time position State award funds may be used for the salary of the full-time MESA Program Director Grantee will provide the required MESA Program Director with no other responsibilities outside of directing the MESA Program Categorical funding for MESA programs be used to establish, expand, and develop MESA programs and services for the purpose of enhancing California s STEM workforce while aiding in reducing equity and achievement gaps.

Mandates & Initiatives Mandates & Initiatives MESA Director EMP Objectives 3.8 Strengthen transfer support services to increase transfers EMP Objectives 4.8 Increase student access to tutoring and other academic support AB 1705 Maximize the probability that a student will enter and complete transfer-level coursework in English and math within a one year timeframe SB 444 To add to Division 7 of Title 3 of the Education Code, relating to community colleges to encourage establishing and implementing MESA programs

  5. Metrics Metrics MESA Director Increase the number of economically and educationally disadvantaged students pursuing degrees in mathematics, engineering, science, and technology who are eligible to transfer to a four-year institution. Improve the academic performance of MESA students. Improve strategies to increase the rate at which MESA students are deemed transfer ready in calculus-based science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) majors. Improve efficient processes and practices and utilize existing college transfer centers to garner greater MESA student transfers to four-year institutions.
