Current Population Survey Basic (CPS) Asks the same 6 disability questions used in the ACS (and other government surveys) Includes civilian noninstitutionalized population ages 16 and older This measure of disability is included in Census Bureau reports on health insurance, poverty, and income 10
American Housing Survey (AHS) Statistics from the 2015 American Housing Survey Summary National Statistics, plus selected Metropolitan Areas Available through the AHS Table Creator Statistics of Disability Status alongside a variety of Household Characteristics, such as: Housing quality measures Food security Neighborhood characteristics 11 11
Research: Measures of Disability among Veterans Disability: Reporting yes to any of the six disability questions within the ACS: Hearing, Seeing, Cognitive, Ambulatory, Self Care, or Independent Living Difficulties Service Connected Disability (SCD): Participation in a program available from the VA that compensates for illnesses or injuries aggravated by service in the military 13 13 13 13
