Immersive Reader Immersive reader provides a number of features which can improve reading comprehension such as: Text to speech which allows learners to listen to the text read out while highlighting the words on screen Grammar tools which provide visual indicators for different types of words and syllables Line focus can help learners focus on segments of text Ability to customise how text is displayed including text size, spacing, font, theme and formatting Resources All about the Immersive Reader (Microsoft resource page) Research related to Immersive Reader (Microsoft resource page) Using Immersive Reader in Canvas page (Canvas resource) 3
Turnitin Document Details Turnitin has been developing new functionality to assist with detecting contract cheating. The Document Details panel displays metadata from the document Author name Last modified by Different page sizes (e.g. A4 and US Letter) Spelling (e.g. mixed American/British spelling) 6
Turnitin Document Details Turnitin s algorithms detect inconsistencies in the document and flag for review. For example, replaced characters to avoid similarity detection by replacing with similar ones from different alphabets. Hidden text such as quotation marks could also exclude plagiarised content. 7
