JOSHUA Joshua was a minister to Moses. God calls Joshua to lead Israel after the death of Moses.
JOSHUA Joshua s original name was Oshea (Numbers 13:8) 1 of the 12 spies sent out to search the land of Canaan. Hoshea (Deuteronomy 32:44) Name means, salvation
Moses reconfigured his name to Joshua, which means Yahweh is Salvation . The Hebrew name Joshua is a form of the Hebrew designation Yeshua and the Greek New Testament designation Jesus.
GODS INSTRUCTION TO JOSHUA
Moses the servant of the Lord has died. The death of Moses had a great impact on the nation of Israel. This announcement sent tsunami waves across the nation of Israel. -Robert Smith Jr.
Moses was the lawgiver that had served them 40 years. Moses was their liberator and mediator. Moses was the one God used to work miracles.
The question throughout the camp of Israel was, what are we going to do? God had a plan. God had a man He chose to lead His people. Joshua was the man.
Gods Instruction to Joshua 1. Arise 2. Go over this Jordan, You and all the people. 3. Into the land which God gives to them. 4. Every place the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that I have given you. God told this to Moses.
From the wilderness and Lebanon To the great river Euphrates All the land of the Hittites Unto the great sea (The Mediterranean) Going down of the sun (sets in the west) This shall be your coast
God gave Israel boundaries on the land. God gives us boundaries as followers of Jesus.
1. There shall not be a man able to stand before thee all your days of life. 2. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. 3. I will not fail you, nor forsake you.
