Planning Processes and Mainstreaming of the DPoA in National Planning Sierra Leone adopts inclusive national planning processes and has integrated the DPoA priorities rogrammes at the subnational and national. There is reasonable alignment of UNCT Cooperation Framework and development partners country strategies with the priorities in that national plan. 1. Ministerial Policy Oversight: - which provides broad oversight and direction to the plan preparation process. 2. Core technical committee. This provided technical support in the coordination of the plan formulation process, ensuring that relevant international frameworks were integrated into the plan, and providing data and background documents in the process.
Planning Processes and Mainstreaming of the DPoA in National Planning 4 Working Groups: The plan is framed around the Big 5 Game Changers of the Government, supported by Five Enablers; and with the DPoA priorities mainstreamed. The Working support technical work on the plan formulation and report on progress in implementation. 5 At the sub national level, there a platform called District Development Coordination Committees (DDCCS) established across the 16 districts of Sierra Leone, DDCCs are responsible for coordinating and pulling out district and sub-district (chiefdom) level inputs to the plan formulation. They also provide periodic reports and meet regularly. This has caught the attention of the World Bank, which is now providing support to these structures through a project called Accountable Governance

Status of Implementation of the DPoA Progress Challenges Best Practices Recommen dation Spreading intervention s across the focus areas GDP growth increased to 4% in 2024 Expanded Social Safety nets Importation of essential commodities have increased due to increased production There is an overall improvement in the global food security index Energy Access has increased nationally from 32% to 36% Improvement in key health and education and indicators but more efforts needs to be made on those that are still challenging such as pupil to teacher ratios, prevalence of wasting A DHS will be undertaken in 2025 which will provide us with recent data on health indicators Significant increase in the number of female parliamentarians from 14.5% in the last parliament to 30.4% in the current parliament thanks to enactment of GEWE Law Capacity constraints especially in data collection for effective M&E Our Coordination Platforms and strong synergy and complementarities with development partners Funding Strong collaboration between the Government of Sierra and the UN Country team through the Resident Coordinator. Leveraging South South and Triangular Cooperation Initiatives Climate and lack of access to Climate Financing Limited fiscal space due to high debt service payments
