The Importance of Stakeholder Involvement Getting the Message Out The process of Stakeholder Involvement is great way to get the message out. These activities can do a lot to increase the reach of the ICPDR s message. It s important to utilize multiple platforms & languages throughout the process. Key tools: Danube Watch ICPDR.org Social Media Events Languages: Standard working in English Expanding into 10 Danubian languages
The Importance of Stakeholder Involvement Forging Connections Our stakeholders and observers accompany us from conceptualization to actualization. Overall though, we are simply a conduit for our member countries. As the saying goes: "If You Want To Walk Fast, Walk Alone. If You Want To Walk Far, Walk Together." This is what we've done with our countries and stakeholders alike. Connections & working relationships are consistently forged between different sectors, not only in discussion at meetings but also generally throughout such processes. They tend to: Read each other s comments Share each other s social media posts Move towards speaking in one voice over the process
The Importance of Stakeholder Involvement Responsibility We don t aim to achieve all our goals by speaking directly to the public. We need our stakeholders and observers. They are our link to the over 80 million citizens of the Danube River Basin. While we have a responsibility to be transparent, they are the ones responsible for passing on the messages. And they do it so well that we can look back gladly on 25 years of outstanding cooperation in the Danube River Basin!
The Importance of Stakeholder Involvement ICPDR Events remain the most important of our activities. Even during the pandemic, we re organising these essential meetings. Across multiple platforms, we wish to reach multiple stakeholders.
