Answers What does Diaz like about her pump? tighter control, more flexibility with food and exercise, fewer bruises. How has the pump made her feel? Makes her feel less self conscious, less tired due to better control, really happy with pump, How often does Diaz change her pump? Every 2 3 days What type of insulin is in the pump? Only short acting insulin What are the risks of insulin pump therapy? Only short acting insulin so if any damage to set then at risk of DKA And what needs be done to help reduce this risk? Good insulin adjustment skills so completed and applying principles from structured education, checking at least 4 times a day, having back up pen insulin ( as per pre pump) in case of any damage to pump or equipment or insulin
